Glaetzer Shiraz 1998, Barossa ValleyNow Sold Out The fruit for the Glaetzer Shiraz is sourced from the Ebenezer District in the northwest Barossa Valley. The vines are over 80 years old and extremely low yielding, crops rarely exceeding 1 tonne per acre. Picked at optimum ripeness the grapes were fermented in open top vats before completing fermentation in American oak puncheons (500L barrels). 18 months maturation in oak has allowed superb flavour integration prior to blending and bottling. The wine has immense flavour with the characteristic Barossa Valley richness, softness and elegance. To allow the wine to reach full potential extended cellaring is recommended. |
