Top two wines in "Best of Barossa" TastingPress ReleaseApr 2004 Glaetzer Shiraz blitzed the competition in a recent "Best of Barossa Shiraz" tasting for Australian Gourmet Traveller WINE magazine's April issue. Father and son winemakers Colin and Ben Glaetzer from Glaetzer Wines produced the top two wines (out of 40 tasted) with their 2001 Glaetzer Shiraz and 2001 Glaetzer Bishop Shiraz. The first vintage of both those wines (1996 vintage) also finished in the Top 10. "That's class and consistency - in very strong company," tasting panel member Peter Forrestal says. Other panel members included wine educator and writer Peter Bourne, industry consultant Nick Bulleid MW, auctioneer Andrew Caillard MW, publicist/writer Sophie Otton and journalist Huon Hooke. | Glaetzer Shiraz, Barossa Valley 1999 || Glaetzer Bishop Shiraz, Barossa Valley 1999 | |
