Iconic Australia: Godolphin 2004

Jane MacQuitty, The UK Sunday Times
 Feb 2006

Jane MacQuitty attended the Australia Day tastings in London recently.  She recommended two whites and three reds.

"In an attempt to convince us all that Australia can produce wines to equal France's finest, this year's Australia Day tasting saw fit to parade "Iconic Australia": "a flight of 50 wines of the Australian ultra-premium wine offer". So did I find among them the Shane Warne of wines? ....Of the reds, there were more that would bring me to my knees, especially...the smoky, chocolatey 2004 Godolphin Shiraz from Barossa Valley aged for 14 months in French and American oak.....magnificent."
