Glaetzer 08's rated in The Big Red Wine Book

Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh, The Big Red Wine Book 2010/11
 Jun 2010

Glaetzer Amon-Ra Shiraz 2008
"Red wines don't come much bigger than Glaetzer's Amon-Ra Shiraz.
The 2008 release tastes like liquefied blackforest cake with cedary, vanillin oak on top. It's as rich and voluptuous as that. It oozes aniseed and various exotic spices too. Needless to say, it's a full-bodied wine. Super-smooth in its texture and for all its might and power, it remains fresh, almost frisky. In short, this is a case of liquid seduction. Drink 2010- 2018."

Glaetzer Anaperenna Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
"Anaperenna sure is a hard name to spell, though the wine is lovely. So too is the packaging (that said, all the Glaetzer wines are strikingly packaged). This year's release is 75 per cent shiraz, 25 per cent cabernet
2007 release: Yum! Flavours of cloves, toast and coffee from the oak it was matured in (Walsh took a sip and exclaimed, 'Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back before breakfast!' and Mattinson still doesn't quite know what he meant) and then lots of liquoricey, blackberried, chocolatey fruit flavours. It's smooth and flooded with flavour, but not excessively heavy. You'd never know it was a difficult vintage. It's meant to be cellared but you could easily drink this now. Drink 2010-2017"

Glaetzer Bishop Shiraz 2008
"Cop the colour on this! Brilliant black, glowing purple. Very youthful and more than a bit jammy at present - tastes a bit like Liquorice Allsorts, with blueberry and cracked black pepper in support. Walsh reckons it's full of 'pulpy rich fruit, open-weave grainy tannins and mocha like oak'. Both of us reckon it needs to be either cellared for a couple of years or given a good stint in a decanter.
Drink 2013-2018"

Glaetzer Wallace Shiraz Grenache 2008
"A touch of grenache (20 per cent) blended with shiraz is almost always a good thing. Especially if the grenache you're using is of high quality.
2008 release: Juicy, dark, full-bodied and very, very easy to slurp. One of those 'dangerous' kinds of wine - you just keep wanting another glass. It has flavours of dark cherries and sundry berries, with vanilla, clove-like touches from oak. Walsh called it 'plump' in the cuddly and warm sense of the word.
Drink: 2010-2014"
